It's still good to be the King...

One man, two letters T.I. talks about his life and smoking premium cigars.

The undisputed 'Jay-Z of the South' or what T.I. prefers to call himself the 'King of the South' is back home and ready to take on the world. A short rundown: he is the founder of and CEO of Grand Hustle Records, the recipient of numerous Grammy, Billboard, and BET awards, and has recorded with some the best in the music industry. But let's delve into why I'm interested in T.I... his love of cigars.

During T.I.'s recent incarceration what he did to fill his time was read about cigars. T.I. was introduced to cigars in his early 20s. Being a successful musician who is accustomed to the finer things in life, he considers himself a fan of the finest forbidden tobacco that Cuba has to offer.

He's had the privelege to partake in Cuban Cohiba's and Monte's, but being stateside he's found some fine cigars to enjoy and keeps a open mind about one's that he hasn't tried.

Cigars have become a staple of modern hip-hop success. Along with T.I. you will often find luminaries such as Jay-Z, Diddy and Nas with a stick in their mouth, maybe it's new symbol of sophistication. Maybe with this article maybe more people will light up, who knows? But you can say that hip-hop and cigars do have something in common.
